The Damian Medical Center is a private health care center operating on the market since 1994. As the only private medical facility in Warsaw it operates a hospital equipped with 40 beds and the following departments: general medicine, surgical, obstetrics and one-day surgery department. In the hospital there are three operation theatres; patients are under 24/7 care of physicians and nurses. Over three thousand operations and ten thousand outpatient procedures are performed, and over 600 babies are delivered here every year.
The scope of operations encompasses many specialties, such as: general surgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, surgical oncology, paediatric surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, neurosurgery and laryngology (operations using both classic and endoscope-based methods.) Procedures for treating snoring and sleep apnea syndrome have been performed successfully using the CELON device.
Minimally invasive non-surgical discopathy operations via the laser method are very popular. There are also unique procedures integrating the fields of urology and reconstructive surgery performed in the Damian Hospital, as well as surgical oncology with the use of the Gamma Finder — a device used to search for sentinel lymph nodes in breast surgery.
The facility has introduced modern laser techniques in vascular operations, laryngological operations and neurosurgical operations. This year the Hospital is planning to introduce angioplasty operation in the field of vascular surgery and bariatric operations, consisting in laparoscope placement of a band on the stomach of obese patients, in order to reduce body weight to an appropriate level.
