Urology

We perform prostate surgery (traditional and transurethral electroresection), operational treatment of nephro- and urolithiasis, kidney and bladder surgery, as well as genitourinary surgery. We have at our disposal complete diagnostic and laboratory support (free and total PSA, testosterone and other male hormones level, DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone), urine and semen bacteriology, as well as testicular markers: AFP and BHCG).
Radiological laboratory performs contrast X-rays - urography, miction cystography and urethra contrast examination. With computed tomography we can precisely diagnose even minor pathologies. Urological ultrasound laboratory is available on the premises, offering US-guided core-needle biopsy (TRUCUT).

Reconstructive surgery of male genitourinary organs

The head of the team: Associate professor, Wojciech Perdzyński, MD, PhD is frequently invited to give lectures and to operate within the European School of Andrological Surgery organised by the Italian Andrological Society (Societa Italiana di Andrologica - SIA) in Belgrade.

The scope of paediatric and adult surgery is as follows::

• reconstructive operations of congenital penile defects:
- hypospadia, including corrective surgery of penile deformities due to previous operations whose results are not satisfactory to the patient,
- penile curvature,
- glans curvature,
- epispadia,
• reconstructive operations of acquired penile curvatures (Peyronie’s disease, post-traumatic penile deviation),
• surgery of urethral strictures,
• operations improving cosmesis of external genital organs (including correction of the penile body and glans and of the scrotum),
• surgical separation of prepuce or penis skin adhesions with the glans and coronal sulcus formation,
• surgery of incomplete testicular descent (criptorchidism),
• surgery of varicocoele,
• implantation of testicular prostheses,
• penile elongation: a so-called true elongation, increasing length of the erect penis (e.g. in patients with short penis, micropenis or in patients who do not accept the size of their penis, which is a source of their psychic suffering). Many healthcare institutions offer their patients an operation that consists in cutting of the suspensory ligament that causes only penis descent and increases – so to say – “pants impression”. It is a so-called pseudo-elongation as it does not increase erect penis length (this opinion is supported by reliable research studies).
• surgical removal of urethral orifice cysts,
• surgical removal of glans cysts.
